If you work out regularly, chances are you’ve picked up some “fitness advice” in the sauna, locker room or gym. Trouble is not everything you hear is right. There’s a lot of misinformation going around and you’re probably getting more half-truths or lies than sound advice.

To clear up this matter, here are some common fitness myths and the facts behind them. By learning the truth about exercise, you won’t be misled the next time you work out.

‘Never drink liquids while exercising.’
It was once thought that drinking liquids would bloat the body and affect an athlete’s performance. But the opposite is true. Boxers, dancers, football players, and long-distance runners may lose as much as five pounds while performing. What’s lost is mainly water and if this isn’t replaced, you could suffer from dehydration and heat stroke that can be fatal.

“Prohibiting water on the practice field has no physiological basis. Withholding liquids during hot, humid weather makes an athlete susceptible to heat cramps, heat exhaustion, or the more serious and sometimes fatal heat stroke. Dehydration causes fatigue, which in itself makes an athlete more vulnerable to injury,” explained Dr. Ellington Darden in “The Health Robbers.”

To improve athletic performance, don’t wait until you’re thirsty before you drink. By that time, you may already be dehydrated. Instead, drink water before, during, and after exercising. Take about eight ounces of water every 20 minutes while exercising.

‘Never drink cold water while exercising.’
Contrary to popular belief, cold water won’t cause cramps and is the best drink for exercisers since its absorbed rapidly. In effect, it cools the body faster than lukewarm or hot beverages.

What you should avoid is coffee, alcohol or carbonated beverages. The first two may dehydrate you while the latter can make you feel full, preventing you from drinking enough fluids.

‘No pain, no gain.’
There are people who think it’s normal to feel tired and sore after a workout. That’s to be expected at the start of an exercise program but it should pass in a week or two.

If not, it’s the body’s way of telling you that it’s being abused or injured. You’re probably not exercising right or you’re pushing yourself too hard. Rest for a few days, apply ice to the sore areas, and change your routine. Remember that a good exercise program should leave you rested and invigorated, not gasping for breath or crying!

“The truth is, exercise does not need to hurt to be good for you. In fact, if it does hurt you’re probably doing something wrong,” said Suzanne Schlosberg and Liza Neporent in “Fitness for Dummies.”

“If you experience major muscle aches after a demanding aerobics class or a longer-than-usual run, you’ve pushed yourself too hard. Experts believe that delayed muscle soreness, in which pain peaks 24 to 48 hours after exercise, results from inflammation and microscopic tears in the elastic tissues that surround muscle fibers. To give muscles time to adapt, don’t do much too soon. A good rule of thumb: Increase exercise time or difficulty about 5 percent a session - say by adding ½ minutes to a 30-minute workout,” added Royce Flippin in American Health magazine.

While diet and exercise are essential in losing weight, many products can help you do a better job.

Core training is as strong as its name suggests, the "core" or foundation of any sports fitness regimen. Requirements for the generation of explosive power or speed in movement, is establishing adequate core strength.

The "heart" is most often assumed to consist solely of the abdominal muscles, when in fact consists of several different muscles that run along the torso and strengthen the spine and pelvis. These muscles create a powerful support base for movements that can be generated and transferred to the extremities.

The "core" consists of the following muscle groups:

Erector column - A group of three muscles running along the neck and lower back which function to straighten and turn back.

Multifidus - Runs along of the spine under the erector spinae these muscles help to lift and rotate the spine.

Rectus abdominis - commonly known as the six pack or eight pack.

External and internal obliques - The external obliques are located on the lateral anterior abdomen. The internal obliques are just below in the opposite direction

Transverse Abdominal - The deepest layer of abdominal muscle that covers the torso from front to back and ribs the pelvis, and provides protection for the spine.

Hip flexors - the group of muscles that connect the legs and buttocks.

Gluteus Medius, Minimus and Maximus - The area of the tendons and superior gluteal muscles are composed of these.

Hip adductors - located in the medial or inner thigh.

A strong core provides stability and balance of the body that allows the transfer of powerful movements in the limbs. Considering that the power generated from the center outward to the extremities, the greater the stability of the center or core, the most powerful of the muscles of the arms and legs can get. A solid core also corrects the posture, which can reduce stress on the spine and eliminate the potential for injury due to postural imbalances.

There are many people who like to make their home exercise routines. For a long time, stationary exercise bikes were the most common type of exercise equipment you'd find in anyone's home. For the most part, this is still true. Although there are many more advanced types of exercise equipment on the market, most people still like the simplicity and ease to use a bike. If you are not using one, chances are that you find one in your attic or basement collecting dust.

I've had a few bikes stationary exercise in my life. The first one I ever used was one that had my aunt in her house. I never saw her use it, but I always get on and playing fun. At this point in my life, stationary exercise bikes were something that was strictly for fun, and the idea of a structured exercise routine was something foreign to me. My friends and I always plenty of exercise just by playing outside.

I had a few stationary bike exercise of my own, although I have a now. Like most people, I use it for a while and then lose motivation. It is therefore important to ensure that love the form of exercise they have chosen before buying the team. Stationary bikes and other pieces of equipment such as treadmills can cost a little money.

People have the best intentions, But these items usually end up stored and accumulating dust. I know that most of my relatives have some type of exercise equipment and home, and I know nothing This is being used. They are not alone, as this seems to be the same everywhere I go.

If you want to buy stationary exercise bikes, it is possible wanting to buy one that someone has used for a while and then save. If you search their local ads, you'll probably find many advertisements for stationary exercise bicycles, along with ads for things like treadmills and home gyms.

People have the best intentions, but intentions always respond to the reality of life. Unless someone is super motivated to get back into shape and work every day, usually such things are just forgotten. This is the reason why you can find a great deal on a piece of used equipment has not been used much.

If you want to be fitter, but have trouble sticking to any exercise program over a couple of days, our exercise programs for women who hate exercise are virtually guaranteed to help you out!

I'll tell you the secret right away: do their part of their daily training routine, and do not try to do everything at once.

The first thing

Starting the day with a little exercise is a great idea. 5 or 10 minutes of stretching, yoga or walking on the ground will make your movement in motion, will help to awaken and you with a positive attitude in his day.

Every time you are standing, the abdominals contract. Press for 3 breaths, relax, repeat. You can do this anytime you are waiting in line for anything.

You can also contract the pelvic floor muscles regularly throughout the day while sitting. This tone it internally.

Position
